-Although we will happily take any personal items from home to make you furbabies feel more comfortable, you need to be aware that we are not responsible for any lost or damaged items.
-If your pet becomes ill or the state of the animal's health otherwise requires medical attention, the owner is responsible for any veterinary expenses requested or deemed necessary in an emergency situation.
-Owner specifically represents that the pet has not been exposed to any infectious disease within 30 days prior to check in.
-Owner specifically warrants and represents that the pet is not vicious and has not attacked any person or animal in the past. Owner agrees to hold WRPR harmless for any and all claims arising from acts of the animal which are of a vicious nature.
-Owner understands that the conduct of the pet cannot be absolutely controlled and if the pet's behavior becomes aberrant or destructive to the point of gaining access outside the confines of the facility, WRPR will be held harmless from said actions and Owner may be responsible for any and all damages caused by the pet.
-All pets not currently on oral flea preventive will be given a Capstar on entry at the owner's expense. If fleas or ticks are found on entry, a monthly oral or topical anti-parasitic medication will be given at owner's expense. Downstairs dogs get 3 walks a day and have indoor/ outdoor kennels. Upstairs dogs get 4 walks a day for those tiny bladders. Mealtimes can be up to 3 times a day, with the last mealtime for a downstairs dog being at 4pm, and last meal for an upstairs dog being at 6pm. We want to make sure that we try to keep their schedules for feeding as close to at home feeding as possible, however that doesn't always line up with our schedule for how we need to take care of the animals in our care. The last of our staff leaves here at 7pm and doesn't return until 7am in the morning. We do have cameras for us to keep an eye on your furbabies however, we do not have staff here overnight. We welcome owners to bring their own food for their furbabies, however we do have Science Diet prescription GI food here if that is not a possibility. Due to cross contamination, we do not accept raw or fresh food.
Pets with matted coats need extra attention during the grooming session. Matts left in pets coats only grow tighter, and can strangle the pet’s skin, even eventually tear it open. We do not want to cause undue stress to your pet and will not continually de-mat your pet for you. Mats are difficult to remove and may require your pet to be shaved. It is not uncommon for underlying skin problems to present once mats are shaved off including parasites (fleas/ticks, infections (yeast/bacteria) or wounds. The groomer will contact you with any such findings.
Understanding that if my pet is matted, spot shaving or a full shave down might be required if the matting is too severe to be brushed out. I understand that the groomer may change my groom/refuse to perform groom if they believe it is in the animal's best interests in regard to their health and lifestyle.
If fleas or ticks are found on your pet during the grooming process, your pet will be treated with a Capstar to kill the parasites and you will be charged an additional fee. Ticks found will be removed for an additional charge. If ticks are found we strongly suggest you take your dog to be checked by your Vet, even have your pet tested for Lyme disease. Please note that parasites are a health hazard to your pets as well as to humans.
Shaving a double coated breed can result in slow regrowth or occasionally failure of the coat to re-grow at all. This has nothing to do with the method of grooming but rather the growth pattern of these types of coats. In some cases, the coat re-grows but the color and texture may be different. This is an inherent risk of shaving these types of dogs and should be seriously considered prior to proceeding with the shaving. Shaving down heavy coated dogs does not offer relief from heat, it actually makes them less able to regulate their body temperature. If shedding is the concern other methods could be used.
Some medical conditions can make grooming stressful on pets.
Please Inform The Groomer If Your Pet Has Been Diagnosed With A Heart Problem, Arthritis, Back or Neck Problems or Any Other Serious Medical Condition. Every attempt will be made to minimize the stress which could exacerbate a pre-existing problem. This may mean altering some standard procedures such as not using a heated dryer or expecting the pet to stand still for extended periods. Unfortunately, this could change the final grooming appearance. If the pet becomes excessively stressed or show signs of medical compromise the groomer will stop, and you will be contacted about the best way to proceed.
There is always the possibility an accident could occur. Grooming equipment is sharp. Even though we use extreme caution and care in all situations, possible problems could occur including cuts, nicks, scratches, quicking of the nails etc. In most cases this can happen when a pet is wriggling or moving around. Every effort will be made to ensure your pet is groomed as safely as possible: however, some pets may have reactions to grooming products or procedures such as shaving, ear plucking etc.
We need authorization that Willow Run Pet Resort, Day Spaw, & Training Center (WRPR), its staff and/or their assigns to render and perform medical treatments as they deem necessary in the event that I cannot be reached at the contact number on file/provided below. And authorization to administrator of anesthetics, treatment and/or vaccinations as may be deemed necessary while said animal is in custody of protection of WRPR.
Owners MUST inform us, if your dog bites, has bitten, or is aggressive to people, other pets or specific grooming procedures. In some cases, use of a muzzle maybe used, this will not harm your pet, and protects both the pet and the groomer.
We reserve the right to refuse/stop services for such pets at any time before or during the grooming process.
An understanding that the conduct of said pet cannot be absolutely controlled and if said pet's behavior becomes aberrant or destructive to the point of gaining access outside the confines of the facility, WRPR will be held blameless and I will be held responsible for any and all charges incurred.
Agreement to assume financial responsibility for all charges incurred to the patient, and I agree to pay all such charges at the time of release. If I fail to pay any of the incurred fees, I agree to be held liable for collection and legal fees.
Understanding that due to the nature of pet grooming all quoted prices prior to actually grooming my pet are only estimates. Final price will depend on the temperament of each pet and the condition of its coat. Upon physical inspection of my pet by the groomer a in good faith estimated price will be provided. Extra charges may apply for pets that are matted and/or difficult to manage.
Agreeing that WRPR shall not be responsible or liable for any lost, stolen or damaged personal property belonging to either my dog or me. I also understand and agree that my dog’s collar maybe removed in the grooming area to prevent any injury to any dog.
A $25 dollar Deposit per animal, will be charged for any reservations, this is refundable up to 48 hours before your reservation. Holiday deposits will be non-refundable. If you want a groom or bath at the end of your boarding reservation this requires a separate Deposit. If your pet is getting the bath or groom on the day you pick-up then the late pick-up fee, will be waived for that day.
One of the additional activities offered at Willow Run Pet Resort, Day Spaw, & Training Center (WRPR) is playgroups for dogs. These playgroups are small in size and will contain dogs of similar sizes, ages, and temperaments. Each playgroup will be closely supervised by a kennel tech at all times, however, canine play behavior and unknown or undocumented aggression can lead to altercations or injuries which is a risk that will always be present when dogs interact.
• Owners must inform kennel staff of any aggressive behavior their pet has displayed in the past or may display when signing up for playgroups. Aggressive behaviors can include, but are not limited to: food hoarding/aggression, toy hoarding/aggression, fence fighting, displays of dominance, guarding/being over protective of people.
• Owners must also inform kennel staff of any prior injuries or pre-existing conditions that may cause a pet to not be able to play with higher energy dogs (eg. arthritis, back/spinal problems, leg problems, etc.).
• Willow Run Pet Resort, Day Spaw, & Training Center (WRPR) and its staff will not be held liable for any injuries related to a dog's participation in playgroups and are not financially responsible for any necessary treatment.
• Owner understands there is a greater risk of pets being exposed to micro-organisms or bacteria that they have not been exposed to before and thus the possibility of infection increases. Willow Run Pet Resort, Day Spaw, & Training Center (WRPR) and it's staff will not be held liable for any exam fees, medications or expenses that occur as a result.
Dogs that are under 16 weeks of age do not have a fully developed immune system and will be put in a separate playgroup for dogs of the same age. This is done to protect the health and safety of all dogs in the facility. Dogs that are 16 weeks of age and older will be expected to have and be up to date on all required vaccinations to be able to participate in playgroup time.
Any dog that shows aggressive behavior during playgroup time will be removed from playgroups and the owner notified. Depending on how the behavior is handled and whether or not it can be rectified, the pet may not be able to participate in future playgroups.
